With increasing populations in megacities and also mid-size cities, there is a requirement for the continuous development and improvement of the tunnelling infrastructure.
Longer, bigger and deeper tunnels need to be excavated, it is clear that massive infrastructure tunnel projects will need to be developed all around the world in the near future. Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) are used in exactly these types of projects. TBMs are very modern machines used to excavate tunnels quickly and safely. Depending on the tunnel and the ground to be excavated, different types of TBMs may be used.
This course will give you an introduction into the world of the TBMs and the different types of TBMs most present in the mayor projects worldwide. It will also demonstrate the products from Sika available for the different machines and their uses.
